Brazilian Tasting Championship

🥂 Inspired by the acclaimed format of the World Tasting Championship, the Brazilian Tasting Championship was created to become the country’s largest and most challenging competitive tasting event.

Conceived by three members of the Brazilian Tasting Team, who represent Brazil at the World Championship, the project’s mission is to promote technical excellence, recognize national talent, and expand access to high-level competitions.

The concept is simple. The challenge is extraordinary.

🍷 Each participant will face 12 wines served blind, including still, sparkling, and fortified wines, in a controlled environment where precision, knowledge, and sensory sensitivity will be put to the test.

Competitors will have just 10 minutes to analyze each wine and correctly identify the grape variety or blend, country of origin, region, and vintage. Every detail may make the difference in the race for the podium.

Unlike the traditional team-based format used at the World Championship, the Brazilian competition will be held individually and will bring together 60 tasters. As part of its commitment to inclusion and representation, five places will be reserved for affirmative-action initiatives aimed at promoting diversity within the world of wine.

📍 The first edition took place on September 27, 2025, in São Paulo, marking the beginning of a new era for the discovery of talent and the strengthening of technical tasting culture in Brazil.

The Brazilian Tasting Championship is coming to the captivating city of Salvador, set against the historic backdrop of Palacete Tira-Chapéu during Wine Brasil Music.

The event will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
